Shelley Thompson

Shelley Thompson/Rusty Tractor Productions.

Writer/Director/Producer/Actor Shelley Thompson is based in Wolfville, in Mi'kma'ki (Nova Scotia). 

Trained at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), UK; Canadian Film Centre, Toronto; Women In the Directors Chair, Vancouver; the Writers Lab, NYC; and most recently, the Whistler Film Festival’s Producer’s Lab. 

Her recent screen credits include CBC TV’s Moonshine, CTV’s Sullivan’s Crossing, webseries Tokens, and Bell TV1 King and Pawn. Thompson is a multiple ACTRA/Gemini winner for roles in Trailer Park Boys, feature films Splinters (Thom Fitzgerald) and The Child Remains (Michael Melski). 

Thompson's first Feature (Writer/Director), Dawn, Her Dad & The Tractor, is presently streaming on Amazon Prime in Canada. A doc series Translations is planned to shoot in May 2023. 

Her first novel, Roar, was published with Vagrant Press in October 2023. 

She is the producer—through her production company, Rusty Tractor Productions—of audiobooks Roar (Thompson) and The Spoon Stealer (Lesley Crewe), both to be found on audible.ca, among other platforms.
